Ozan Ceyhun

Ozan Ceyhun is known as a German politician of Turkish origin, born on October 10, 1960, in Adana. He completed his primary education in Istanbul and graduated from Boğaziçi High School in 1979. He continued his university education in the Department of German Language and Literature at Hacettepe University.

Following the military coup in 1980, he moved to Austria and then settled in Germany in 1982. He received education as a social pedagogue in Germany and worked in this field. In 1986, he became a member of the German Green Party (Die Grünen) and actively worked on issues concerning foreigners and refugees.

Between 1992 and 1998, he served in the Social Ministry of the state of Hessen. Subsequently, he represented the Green Party Germany in the European Parliament from 1998 to 2000. In 2000, he joined the Social Democratic Party (SPD) and continued his role in the European Parliament under this party until 2004.
