Joseph Magutt

Amb. Joseph Magutt, also known as "Magoott", is a lecturer in politics and international studies at Kenyatta University and a motivational speaker. He has also taught graduate and undergraduate programmes in several universities, such as the United States International University, the Moi University, the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology and Egerton University. Amb. Magutt analyses local and international issues concerning politics, conflict and international relations, and also contributes to various media both locally and internationally.

Amb. Magutt writes on local and international political issues and his articles frequently feature in mainstream newspapers and magazines in Kenya. These include: Daily Nation, The Standard, and The People and Management Magazine. Ambassador Magutt was a member of the Orange Democratic Movement- Party of Kenya (ODM) campaign team in 2007 and contributed both to the strategy and the writing of the party manifesto. Amb. Magutt is also the patron of the Joseph Magutt Foundation.

In 2002 Amb. Joseph Magutt was nationally nominated KTN’s person of the year under forty, in what was billed "TOP 40 UNDER 40". This was a national survey of young people who have played significant national role and have distinguished themselves in leadership, influencing the lives of many positively. The nominees were voted by the public nationally. He is the Ambassador of Kenya in Berlin since 2014.
