Organised by Impression Taiwan, the Taiwan Film Festival Berlin promises a diverse range of abstract and artistic films, supported through sponsorship from the Ministry of Culture Taiwan.

The 10-day long festival will take place between 23rd September and 2nd October and is the largest of its kind in Europe.

The festival commenced with a screening of Fish Wang’s short animated film ‘Goldfish’, which describes the story of a young boy with special talents who discovers he may never grow up, shown through captivating visuals. The screening, moderated by Jaye Lin, was a collaboration between the festival itself with C*SPACE Berlin. The co-working space prides itself on its intentional attitudes towards work and cooperation, while also creating a space for the Asian-Berlin community in the city, where people can relax and discuss ideas.

A core element of the festival is the notion of cross-cultural exchange, in which individuals can help bridge communities in Germany and Taiwan alike, creating the space for a dialogue about the respective cultures. The presence of filmmakers and experts equally allows guests to probe deeper into the film and develop their understanding. This is all sought to be achieved alongside a stimulating assortment of 8 drama films, 4 short films and many other special events for guests.
