The Ambassador

Amb. Rafael Calventi

Amb. Rafael Calventi is the Ambassador of the Principality of Dominican Republic to Germany. He studied a PhD in Architecture in Sapienza University of Rome, Italy.

From 1965 to 1966 Amb. Calventi has been the head of construction drawing at the Ministry of Public Works. From 1966 until 1968, he was a lecturer and director of the Institute of Architecture at the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo.

In 1986 Amb. Calventi was a member of the advisory committee selection Dominican government. Later, in 1997, he was a member of the National Commission of Urban Planning and cultural heritage and from 1997 to 2000 he was Ambassador to Rome and Permanent Representative to FAO, IFAD, WFP and the Italo-Latin American Institute in Rome. From 2000 to 2005 he was Ambassador to Mexico, and later from February 2005 he was Ambassador to Argentina in Buenos Aires.
