Peruvian Embassy in Germany Inaugurates "BerLima" Photography Exhibition
A Visual Celebration of Cultural Union Between Berlin and Lima
August 06th, 2024On July 23, the Peruvian Embassy in Germany inaugurated the “BerLima” photography exhibition at the Maria Reiche Hall in Berlin. The exhibition, which will run until August 9, 2021, features a dozen photographs of varying sizes and colours, all created using the digital collage technique.
The exhibition highlights the union between Peruvian and German cultures by blending places and symbols representative of Berlin and Lima. This visual narrative serves as a reference point for the cultural connections between the two cities.
Peruvian photographer Lorenzo Yori, the artist behind the exhibition, shared his inspiration and the technique used in his graphic compositions. He explained that “BerLima” seeks to convey the identity and adaptation challenges that come with migrating to a new home. Through the identification of common places and differences between Berlin and Lima, Yori reflects on his own experiences as a migrant, offering a unique perspective on the cultural fusion between these two vibrant capitals.
The “BerLima” exhibition is a testament to the ongoing cultural diplomacy efforts by the Peruvian Embassy, fostering mutual understanding and appreciation between Peru and Germany.
