Reading of the Holy Quran for the Victims of the Explosion of the Central Hydrocarbon Depot in Kaloum

The ceremony was organized on the 7th of January 2024 by Aliou Barry, the Ambassador Extraordinary of the Republic of Guinea to Germany

On 18 December 2023, an explosion and fire broke out at an oil deposit in Conakry, Guinea, killing at least 24 people and injuring 454 and resulting in fuel shortages across the country.

Aliou Barry, Ambassador Extraordinary and penitentiary of the Republic of Guinea in the Federal Republic of Germany, in collaboration with a committee of experts of Berlin, the Executive Office of Guineans and the Coordination of Guineans of Berlin-Brandenburg organized a reading of the Holy Quran on Sunday January 7th, 2024 in honor of this trajedy.

At the start of the ceremony, the Ambassador defined the purpose of the ceremony, which consists of formulating prayers for the rest of the souls of the deceased, to the recovery of the injured as well as for peace and National Unity. Then, he invited his compatriots to offer prayers for the people of Guinea, the Head of State and the government. Finally, he called on compatriots to continue to support the government's efforts to consolidate peace in Guinea.
