On the 10th of August, starting from the Brandenburg Gate, the Bharat Parade will march through the streets of Berlin in celebration of India’s rich culture, history and traditions and 78 years of independence.

The Bharat Parade, known as the Parade of the Republic, is a movement to honor India’s heritage, celebrate its unity, and showcase the cultural tapestry of India to the world.

It is organized by the Embassy of India to Germany, the Tagore Centre and the INDCC (Indian National Day Celebration Committee).

Dance and music performances in traditional Indian attire will transform the streets of Berlin, as the Indian diaspora joins to celebrate the 78th anniversary of the events of 15th of August when India gained its independence from the United Kingdom.

Children and adults will participate in the traditional Vesh-Bhusha where they dress up as one of the revered Indian freedom fighters and deliver some of their famous punch lines at the Brandenburg Gate.

The primary goal of the Bharat-Parade is to embody the spirit of ”वसुधेव कुटुंबकम्” (The World is One Family) and celebrate the richness and harmony of India.

The starting time is 10am on the 10th of August.
