Windhoek in Namibia and Berlin have been Twin Towns for 24 years

Fraziska Giffey welcomed the partners from the German-Namibian municipal partnership

On the 20th of June, during the evening, Fraziska Giffey welcomed the partners from the German-Namibian municipal partnership, together with the mayor of Windhoek, Queen Omagano Kamati.

The event took place at the Red City Hall, on behalf of the state of Berlin.

Windhoek in Namibia and Berlin have been twin towns for 24 years. The Senate Department of Economics is responsible for development cooperation.

The delegation was composed by politicians and member of the administration. It came together for a networking meeting for a cooperation aiming to achieve the global sustainability goals, as part of the municipal expert exchange with African municipal partnerships of the ‘Municipalities in One World Service Center of Engagement Global gGmbH’, financed by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
