The Mecklenburgische Seenplatte, or the Mecklenburg Lake Plateau, is located in the northeastern part of Germany, bordering the district of Mecklenburg in the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

The Seenplatte is one of the most scenic places in Northern Germany, which you can see for yourself when going for a ride on one of the boat tours available. You can also partake in bike riding around the lake by renting a bike at a nearby store. There are also opportunities to rent canoes in the area, which you are allowed to use in certain locations on marked routes.

If you go a bit farther to the West, there is the gorgeous Schloss Schweriner. The Schloss Schweriner is one of the most important historic castles in Europe and can be seen on an island of the same name. Despite undergoing remodification and redesigning throughout its history, the castle has existed since the 10th century. The castle is regarded as one of the most important works of romantic Historicism in Europe and is designated to become a World Heritage Site.

If you get tired of nature you can visit any of the nearby towns and have a beer with the locals.
