Cycling festival in Germany’s capital

Velothon Berlin, Europe’s second-largest bicycle race for amateurs and pros will be held on the 18th and the 19th of June. The race course runs along Berlin's main tourist attractions and sights. The city-marathon attracts more than 13,000 participants and 250,000 spectators every year and together they create a cycling festival in Germany's capital.

The course of the Velothon Berlin courses through the famous parts of the capital city and continues outwards towards the bordering province of Brandenburg. Highlights include the Brandenburger Tor (Brandenburg Gate), Rote Rathaus (Red Town Hall), Potsdamer Platz (Potsdam Square), Eastside Gallery, Alexanderplatz (Alexander place) and the Reichstag. Both the starting line and finishing line is located at the Brandenburg Gate. There are two races to choose from: 60 km and 120 km. The 60 kilometers route is ideal for amateur cyclists who want to experience Berlin by bike. It is mainly flat with light climbs on the Havelchaussee, and includes a multitude of Berlin's sights to ensure a memorable experience. The 120 kilometers route is primarily for ambitious cyclists who want to put their conditioning and stamina to the test.

More than 70 exhibitors and top brands will be selling the latest products in bike technology, outdoor and lifestyle. Kids and teenagers, beginners and determined competitors, world-class cyclists and fans – there is something for everyone at this event.
