According to a joint statement released by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), the dialogue reflected the growing partnership between London and Chișinău. Discussions focused on support for Moldova’s democratic institutions, cybersecurity cooperation and efforts to strengthen resilience against foreign interference and organised crime. 

British and Moldovan representatives also addressed regional security challenges linked to the war in Ukraine. Officials reaffirmed their support for Moldova’s sovereignty and stability, while highlighting the importance of international cooperation in maintaining security across Eastern Europe. The meeting followed recent diplomatic exchanges between Moldovan President Maia Sandu and British authorities during visits to the United Kingdom in 2025 and 2026. 

The Moldovan Embassy in London has continued to play an active role in promoting bilateral dialogue and economic cooperation between the two countries. British officials described Moldova as an increasingly important partner in regional stability and democratic governance initiatives. The dialogue additionally covered trade opportunities, energy security and institutional reform. 

Both governments underlined the importance of maintaining close diplomatic coordination through regular ministerial consultations and embassy-led initiatives. The strategic dialogue demonstrated the United Kingdom’s broader engagement with Eastern European partners on issues related to security, governance and economic resilience.
