A traditional American Fourth of July celebration gave guests the opportunity to engage in activities surrounding the holiday.

For most Americans, the Fourth of July means bringing family together to celebrate with barbecues, parades, and fireworks. Independence Day commemorates the Declaration of Independence, a day when the United States of America declared itself as an independent nation.

In Germany’s capital of Berlin, the U.S. Embassy had its own way to celebrate. Ambassador Richard A. Grenell and Matthew D. Lashey welcomed international guests and Germans from the business, cultural, and political sphere. At Tempelhofer Feld guests enjoyed listened to live music from artists including the USAREUR Dixieland Band, Anthony Evans, George Frederick, and DJ Shelly Shel.

American based food vendors and drinks were also provided and in true German spirit, German vendors were there to ensure everyone’s taste buds were satisfied. The night concluded with a beautiful display of fireworks.
