The Zimbabwe Embassy in Berlin Hosts the Celebration for the Independence Day

The Zimbabwean Embassy in Berlin hosted a celebration to mark the country's Independence Day on April 29th 2023. The event, attended by H. E. Ambassador Alice Mashingaidze, diplomats, students, and local community, featured a diverse range of cultural elements, including Zimbabwean cuisine, music, and poems.

Ambassador Mashingaidze delivered an opening speech to inaugurate the celebration, followed by a poetry recital by embassy members on the diversity and richness of Zimbabwe and its inhabitants. Attendees were treated to a variety of local delicacies, including sadza, Zimbabwean rice, Mopane worms, and beef tripe, while DJ Gody provided the soundtrack with a selection of local music.

The event also provided an opportunity for students and interns from the ICD to learn more about Zimbabwean culture and traditions while connecting with the Ambassador and diplomats. During an open discussion with the ICD team, Ambassador Mashingaidze emphasized the importance of staying true to one's own values and cultural heritage.

Finally, a raffle was held, giving participants the opportunity to participate jointly in the game.
