The cultural department of the spanish embassy has been hosting the “Miguel EN Cervantes” exhibition since the of May 10th, 2016. This exhibition is organized by the organization Spanish Cultural Action, the Community of Madrid and the Cervantes Institute. The reason of this event is due to the IV Centenary of Miguel de Cervantes’ death.

This exhibition is based on a project that represents the work of spanish illustrators named David Rubín and Miguelanxo Prado. These illustrators show a life perspective from a play of Miguel de Cervantes by using comics and illustrations. This exposition combines a tour through the most important life periods of Miguel de Cervantes with one of his most unique plays, El Retablo de las Maravillas (The Wonder Altarpiece), and its protagonist, who are deeply bound to the whole Cervantes’  play.

The exposition has, as its main objective, to approach different audiences with Cervantes’ play, emphasizing the multiple facets of the author. More than a hundred guests attended the opening of the exposition, which was presented by the Embassy Minister-Counselor. The people present at the event enjoyed looking at the illustrations and enjoyed a glass of wine sponsored by Freixenet.
The exposition can be seen until the first of July 2016. The opening hours are from Monday till Thursday from 11.00-17.00 p.m and on Fridays from 11.00-14.00 p.m. The entrance is free.
