The Pearls of Russian Culture at the Berlin Philharmonic Concert Hall

On Monday evening, February 12th, the concert of the All-Russian Youth Symphony Orchestra (ВЮСО) was held at the Berlin Philharmonic Concert Hall in the framework of the international project "Russian Seasons".

The laureate of numerous international competitions, Vadim Repin took part in it as a soloist while the founder and the artistic director of the orchestra Yuri Bashmet stood at the Chief conductor's stand.

Several classical music works were performed at the Berlin Philharmonic Concert Hall such as Dmitry Shostakovich's Symphony No. 5, Alexander Glazunov's Concerto for Violin and Orchestra and Romeo and Juliet overture by Pyotr Tchaikovsky. The Russian Ambassador to Germany, Sergei Nechaev stated that the participation of the All-Russian Youth Symphony Orchestra conducted by Bashmet in the Russian Seasons in no coincidence but on demand for the discerning German public who knows Russian art, understands Russian art and appreciates it. “This program forms a positive agenda in Russian-German relations and aims at strengthening mutual understanding, trust, and friendly feelings… after its completion, we will not finish presenting our culture in Germany, we are already thinking about the 2020 agenda, because culture is eternal, it always brings people together”  concluded the Russian diplomat.

The project "Russian Seasons" was initiated by the Government of Russia and the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and implemented in 2017 in Japan. In 2018, the festival was held in Italy. According to the head of the Russian Seasons, Aleksey Lebedev, over these two years, nine million people attended the « Russian Seasons » events.
