On 18 July 2019, the Ibero-American dance festival « Plataforma Berlin 2019 » opened its doors at the cultural and events center « Radialsystem » in Berlin-Friedrichshain.

The festival commemorates the five-year journey the German naturalist Alexander von Humboldt took from Spain to Latin America in June 1799. Until August 3, 2019, dance performances, installation art, film screenings, intercultural discourses and other events of Ibero-American artists will take place in the « Radialsystem » as well as in the studios « Verlin » and « Dock 11 » in Berlin. During the three-week festival, Ibero-American artists will address climate change, (post-) colonialism, gender images and other topics through artistic representations.

Yesterday, on the opening day in the « RadialSystem » , the South Embassy, a company selling quality Latin-American products in Berlin, and the main sponsor of the event, was present with a stand and served South American wines to the festival guests.

Cecilia Fuentes Ibarburu, founder and CEO of South Embassy, stated that the South Embassy’s stand not only serves delicious South American wines to its guests but also interacts with them trying to make them discover a part of the Ibero-American culture.

The series of events is also sponsored by the Berlin Senate Department for Culture and Europe, the Instituto Cervantes and the Spanish Embassy in Berlin.
