The Ambassador
Amb. Mr. Ravshan Usmanov
Ravshan Usmanov is an Uzbek career diplomat. Born in Tashkent in 1978, he studied political science at the University of Birmingham and completed postgraduate studies in international relations and law in Uzbekistan. His career has included senior Foreign Ministry work on Europe and NATO, ambassadorial service in France and Malaysia, and responsibilities in tourism development before he became Ambassador to the United Kingdom.
History
Bilateral ties between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the United Kingdom are highly progressive, strategically vital, and rapidly expanding, formalized immediately following Uzbekistan's independence in 1992. The embassy commands a stately, active independent chancery mansion located at 41 Holland Park in the exclusive diplomatic district of Kensington.
The Embassy of Uzbekistan in London functions as a powerhouse operational center executing advanced post-Brexit trade liquidity, mineral resource diplomacy, and critical educational synchronization between Tashkent and Whitehall. Under Ambassador Usmanov’s direct guidance, a paramount mandate of the mission centers on operationalizing the landmark Joint Economic Commission between Uzbekistan and the United Kingdom. The embassy works side-by-side with the UK's dedicated Trade Envoy for Central Asia to channel heavy British institutional capital into Uzbekistan's sweeping privatization programs, banking systems, and infrastructure corridors.
