The Ambassador
Amb. Nimisha J. Madhvani
H.E. Mrs Nimisha Jayant Madhvanii’s first major overseas posting was at Uganda’s Embassy in Washington, DC, where she served from 1993 to 2006—initially as First Secretary and eventually rising to the position of Deputy Ambassador.
From 2007 to 2013 she was Uganda’s High Commissioner to India, while simultaneously being accredited to Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Bhutan, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and the Maldives. She then served as Ambassador to France from 2013 to 2017, then from 2018 to 2022 as Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates and to the Nordic and Baltic States.
Throughout her career she worked closely with multilateral organisations such as the World Bank, OECD, UNESCO, and the Agence Française de Développement, helping to secure increased funding for Uganda’s development projects.
