H.E. Prince Abdullah bin Khalid bin Sultan Al Saud
H.E. Prince Abdullah bin Khalid bin Sultan Al Saud is a Saudi diplomat serving as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Austria and Permanent Representative to the United Nations and other international organizations in Vienna. He belongs to the Saudi royal family and has held diplomatic positions representing Saudi Arabia internationally.
Before his appointment to Vienna, Prince Abdullah bin Khalid bin Sultan Al Saud served as Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Austria’s neighbouring European region and held senior responsibilities within Saudi Arabia’s diplomatic service. His work in Vienna focuses on strengthening Saudi-Austrian relations, particularly in the areas of energy, investment, trade, tourism, technology, and political cooperation. The presence of OPEC headquarters in Vienna also makes Austria an important diplomatic location for Saudi Arabia.
History
Austria and Saudi Arabia established diplomatic relations in 1957. Saudi Arabia maintains an embassy in Vienna, which also serves as its Permanent Mission to the United Nations and other international organizations. Bilateral relations are based on political dialogue, economic cooperation, energy, investment, and cultural exchange. Vienna also hosts the headquarters of the OPEC Secretariat, providing an additional platform for regular interaction between Austrian and Saudi officials.
