HRH. Prince Abdullah bin Khalid bin Sultan Al Saud
His Royal Highness Prince Abdullah bin Khalid bin Sultan Al Saud is a highly prominent, heavyweight young statesman, academic economist, and career diplomat from the House of Saud. Born in February 1988, he is the son of Prince Khalid bin Sultan, the legendary former Deputy Minister of Defense who commanded the Joint Arab Forces during the Gulf War.Prince Abdullah possesses a world-class Ivy League and American technocratic pedigree, having graduated from Columbia University with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics in 2010 and subsequently earning his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the MIT Sloan School of Management in 2015.
Prince Abdullah's rise within the Kingdom's foreign policy and executive machinery has been exceptionally rapid and high-stakes. He initially entered public administration as an Advisor to the Royal Court in 2017. He transitioned into the sovereign diplomatic corps upon his appointment as Saudi Arabia's Ambassador to Austria (2019–2023), concurrently serving as non-resident Ambassador to Slovakia and Slovenia, and the state's Permanent Delegate to the United Nations and International Organizations in Vienna. During this pivotal era, he sat as Saudi Arabia’s Governor on the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), emerging as a sharp, highly vocal multilateral strategist calling for stringent global nuclear non-proliferation safeguards.
Recognized for his keen economic acumen and administrative agility, he was deployed as Ambassador to Germany(2023–2026) to manage critical post-crisis European energy alignments. Following a senior diplomatic reshuffle, King Salman strategically commissioned him to command the premier Western European post in London. Appointed in January 2026, he formally presented his Letters of Credence to His Majesty King Charles III at Buckingham Palace in February 2026, succeeding Prince Khalid bin Bandar. His leadership brings a highly modernized, quantitative, and data-driven approach to the Court of St James's.
