Amb. Idris Abdul Rahman Al Khanjari
H.E. Mr. Idris Abdul Rahman Al Khanjari is a senior and highly influential figure within the diplomatic corps of the Sultanate of Oman. Appointed as the Permanent Representative to Geneva in September 2020, he brings a wealth of strategic acumen, corporate-statecraft background, and multilateral experience to International Geneva.
Throughout his diplomatic tenure, Ambassador Al Khanjari has been a driving force behind aligning Oman's global presence with the ambitious goals of Oman Vision 2040—the nation's blueprint for economic diversification and technological modernization. Known for his comprehensive approach to commercial statecraft, intellectual property rights, and global governance, he has masterfully led high-profile Omani delegations across a variety of critical global platforms, ranging from international labor panels to cutting-edge tech forums. His collaborative work style and strict commitment to rules-based consensus make him a widely respected and authoritative voice within the Arab diplomatic group and the broader United Nations system.

The Permanent Mission in Geneva serves as the Sultanate's primary engine inside the UN Human Rights Council, the World Trade Organization (WTO), the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), and the World Health Organization (WHO). Historically, Oman leverages its presence in Geneva to pioneer transparent multilateral trade systems, safeguard intellectual property to boost digital economies, and engage deeply in the ethical governance of emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI). Under Ambassador Al Khanjari’s leadership, the mission actively collaborates with WIPO to support capacity-building and training for Omani youth and entrepreneurs, while simultaneously working with the WTO and the International Trade Centre (ITC) to enhance the global competitiveness of national exports and integrate the Omani private sector into resilient global value chains.
