Amb. Caroline Ziadeh
H.E. Ms. Caroline Ziadeh is an elite, high-profile diplomat within the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, renowned for her sharp expertise in international law, peacekeeping, and complex multilateral mediation.
Ambassador Ziadeh’s career is marked by exceptional international leadership; notably, she was appointed by the UN Secretary-General to serve as the Special Representative and Head of the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK). Prior to that prestigious global role, she spent nearly a decade as the Deputy Permanent Representative of Lebanon to the United Nations in New York, navigating intense Security Council deliberations. Within the central ministry in Beirut, she has held key positions including Director of the Department of International Organizations. Holding degrees in Economics and International Law from universities in Beirut and Paris, her deep strategic insight into post-conflict stabilization and global governance makes her an incredibly influential diplomat in Geneva.

The Permanent Mission in Geneva acts as Lebanon’s critical lifeline to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the World Health Organization (WHO), and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). Historically, the mission’s strategic focus avoids aggressive trade diplomacy, choosing instead to center its mandates on international humanitarian law, human rights defense, and mobilizing global aid for refugee-hosting communities. Under Ambassador Ziadeh's leadership, the mission fiercely advocates for equitable burden-sharing regarding the massive Syrian and Palestinian refugee populations in Lebanon, while continuously fighting to preserve international health and development assistance frameworks for the Lebanese population.
