The Ambassador

H.E. Mr. Manar Munther Dabbas

H.E. Mr. Manar Munther Dabbas is an exceptionally powerful political strategist, institutional heavyweight, and senior career diplomat who has operated for decades at the absolute epicenter of Jordan's sovereign policymaking machinery. Born in Jordan, he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Economics from the University of Jordan in 1992, followed by a Master's degree in Political Science (1994), and earned an advanced Master's degree in International Relations from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. (2003).

Ambassador Dabbas’s extraordinary trajectory bridges top-tier field diplomacy with intimate advisory access to the Royal Hashemite Court. He initially mastered bilateral trade negotiations as First Secretary at the Jordanian Embassy in Washington, D.C. (1999–2004), playing a foundational role in orchestrating the historic United States-Jordan Free Trade Agreement—an achievement for which he was decorated with the Jordanian Order of Independence (Fifth Class).

His profound strategic insights rapidly elevated him into the core administrative apparatus of the state. He served a monumental tenure as the Director of the Policy Affairs Department within the Office of His Majesty King Abdullah II (2010–2016), managing highly sensitive regional defense portfolios during the height of the Arab Spring. He was subsequently elevated to Director of the Office of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince (2016–2021), acting as a principal architect for the Kingdom's long-term youth and socioeconomic transformation agendas. Formally appointed as an Ambassador to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2021, his strategic deployment to the Court of St James's places King Abdullah II's trusted inner-circle policy advisor at the helm of Jordan’s premier European post

History

Bilateral ties between Jordan and the United Kingdom are profoundly historic, continuous, and highly strategic, anchored by a deep-rooted institutional fraternity between the British Royal Family and the Hashemite Royal House. The embassy occupies a grand, stately independent mansion located at 6 Upper Phillimore Gardens in the ultra-exclusive diplomatic enclave of Kensington.

The Embassy of Jordan in London operates as a principal command center for executing regional security statecraft, advanced commercial trade, and massive humanitarian synchronization between Amman and Whitehall. Under Ambassador Dabbas's elite policy and royal advisory background, the primary mandate of the mission centers on modernizing bilateral defense partnerships and anchoring regional stability.

The embassy acts as a vital bridge for joint operations with the UK Ministry of Defence, navigating counter-terrorism networks and driving international support for Jordan's monumental humanitarian efforts in hosting millions of regional refugees. Commercially, the embassy works hand-in-hand with the Arab British Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) to expand trade, channelling British capital into Jordan's booming green energy sectors, municipal water technology infrastructure, and specialized ICT corridors. Furthermore, the mission drives active academic statecraft—collaborating closely with elite UK universities to expand higher-education exchange programs—while its consular division delivers digitized registry, passport, and visa services to the thriving Jordanian academic and professional diaspora community residing throughout the United Kingdom.
