The Embassy of Bolivia in London

Bilateral ties between Bolivia and the United Kingdom trace their origins back to the 19th century, following Bolivia's independence. Today, the embassy operates from its prestigious flagship location at 106 Eaton Square in the heart of Belgravia, a historic neighborhood synonymous with global statecraft.

The Embassy of Bolivia in London functions as the central engine for executing resource-based diplomacy, ecological preservation advocacy, and localized consular protection. Geopolitically, a core mandate of the mission revolves around attracting British capital and green-tech partnerships to develop Bolivia's staggering lithium reserves (found within the Salar de Uyuni), which represent the largest lithium resources on earth and are critical to the global electric vehicle transition. Under Ms. Melendres Argote's stewardship, the embassy heavily prioritizes international climate-justice diplomacy—frequently coordinating with South American counterparts to protect the Amazon basin—while ensuring a modernized, highly efficient registry and passport service for the growing Bolivian diaspora and student population residing across the United Kingdom.
