Her Excellency Mariana Plaza is a seasoned career diplomat who has served as the Argentine Ambassador to the United Kingdom since June 2024, the first woman career diplomat to hold this position. 

Joining the Argentine Foreign Service in 2005, Plaza's career has included postings at the Argentine Mission to MERCOSUR and ALADI in Uruguay, and the Argentine Embassy in Kenya. In 2019, she became the Deputy Head of Mission at the Argentine Embassy in London, gaining experience in bilateral relations before her appointment as Ambassador in May 2024. As Ambassador, she manages dialogue between Argentina and the UK, addresses issues like the Malvinas/Falkland Islands, and promotes trade, cultural, and scientific ties.
