H.E. Betina Alejandra Pasquali

H.E. Betina Alejandra Pasquali (often professionally referred to as Betina Pasquali de Fonseca) is a highly accomplished career diplomat from Argentina with decades of experience in global foreign service. Her deep connection to German culture began early in her life as a graduate of a German school in Buenos Aires, which allowed her to develop an exceptional command of the German language. Over her extensive career within the Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship, she has accumulated significant international experience through various postings across North America and Europe, including early assignments in Canada and Austria. She later advanced to serve as Argentina’s Ambassador to El Salvador, and subsequently took on the dual role of Ambassador to Norway and Iceland, where she successfully promoted Argentine political and commercial interests in the Nordic region. Before her current posting, she returned to Buenos Aires to serve as the Director for Europe within the Ministry, managing Argentina's strategic continental policies. On August 27, 2025, Ambassador Pasquali officially assumed her role as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Argentine Republic to the Federal Republic of Germany after presenting her credentials to German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier at Bellevue Palace. Her current mission in Berlin is centered on revitalizing economic partnerships, expanding cultural exchanges, and collaborating closely with German institutions on scientific and social initiatives.
