Annually, a piece of Africa reaches the Danube River in Vienna, setting up stalls on the long artificial island that splits the river as it passes through the city.

The Afrika Tage festival is a colorful and vibrant celebration of the continent’s culture with an opportunity to learn about the people, the places, and the challenges.
The festival is a pleasure for all senses.

There are the the forms and the colours in the clothing, arts, and crafts at the bazaars.

African cuisine is offered to provide the tastes and smells.

Then the sounds, whether from a drum or dance workshop or one of the evening concerts featuring national and international performers. Top names often appear such as Damian “Jr Gong” Marley and Burning Spear who performed in respectively 2022 and 2023.
This year, visitors of the festival can expect the sounds of famous artists Marla Glen and Youssou N’Dour.

And for the soul - every year there are info booths from NGOs active in Africa to provide a better understanding of the continent’s diversity and current issues.
