The 30th Jewish Film Festival Berlin Brandenburg has taken place between the 18th and the 23rd of June. Franziska Giffey held a speech at the opening ceremony on the 18th of June, together with Brandenburg's Minister of Culture Manja Schüle and Minister of State for Culture Claudia Roth.

The Jewis Film Fesival is one of the most important platforms for Jewish film in Europe and shows a diverse program with high-quality film art across all genres, films with a view to history but also to the present. It is also a festival against anti-Semitism with a variety of participation and discussion opportunities for all generations.

In Berlin, five Berlin cinemas took part in the festival - including the Bundesplatz cinema in Wilmersdorf and the Krokodil in Prenzlauer Berg. The Media board Berlin-Brandenburg of the two states and the federal government as well as numerous media partners and supporters promoted the festival.

Franziska Giffey thanked the two managing directors Doreen Goethe and Andreas Stein for the excellent organization and Lea Wohl von Haselberg and Bernd Buder for the program direction.
