Teatro alla Scala unveils Rich Program at Italian Embassy in Berlin
Celebrating Italian culture in Germany, with La Scala and Frankfurt Book Fair

On August 30, 2024, the Italian Embassy in Berlin hosted the presentation of the 2024/2025 season of the Teatro alla Scala. The program, unveiled by Superintendent Dominique Meyer, showcases an exceptionally rich lineup that has been met with great anticipation. This announcement came on the heels of a concert by the Filarmonica della Scala, conducted by Riccardo Chailly at the prestigious Berliner Philharmonie.
Italian Ambassador Varricchio highlighted the significance of such inititatives, underscoring the great relevance of Italian culture in Germany, as underscored by Italy’s role as the guest of honor at the Frankfurt Book Fair. The Ambassador also acknowledged the presence of Extraordinary Commissioner Mauro Mazza at the press conference, adding an extra layer of importance to the event.
The program brings together the music of Luciano Berio, Wolfgang Rihm, and Maurice Ravel, all radical innovators of the 20th century, showcasing the profound influence these composers have had on contemporary music.
