The annual classical concert, Staatsoper für alle ("State Opera for Everyone") will take place on July 9th, 2016 at Bebelplatz in Berlin-Mitte. Under the baton of Daniel Barenboim, the award-winning orchestra of the State Opera Berlin will play a number of pieces from the Baroque and Classical era. The concert, very popular among Berliners and tourists is open to the public.

The concert allows for the creation of cultural dialogue through music – a universal language understood by all. Individuals of all nationalities are invited to interact and listen to the State Opera Berlin perform a repertoire of musical pieces.

This year’s Staatsoper für alle features Jean Sibelius's violin concerto in D minor op. 47 and Ludwig van Beethoven's Symphony No. 3 E flat major "Eroica".  Georgian-born Lisa Batiashvili will be the violin soloist.

In order to ensure good acoustics and create an intimate atmosphere, Bebelplatz and sections of the boulevard Unter den Linden will be closed during the time of the concert.  Visitors are invited to bring beverages and blankets and enjoy the entirety of the concert. The concert starts at 18:00. With more than 40,000 visitors expected to attend, the event will be the highlight of the summer.
