Colourful lights, towering rides and the scent of fairground treats return to Berlin as the Spring Festival opens at the Central Fairgrounds on Kurt-Schumacher-Damm. Running from 28 March to 3 May 2026, the seasonal funfair transforms the area near the former Tegel Airport into a lively destination for families, visitors and locals alike.

More than 85 attractions are set up across the site, ranging from classic rides such as Aviator, Break Dance, Melodie-Star and the car scooter to staples including a ghost train and mirror maze. Among the standout features are a London-style Ferris wheel overlooking the fairgrounds and the 80-meter-tall mobile Gravity Tower, described as the tallest of its kind. Family-friendly rides include Pirate Island, Orient Journey and Dumbo’s Fantastic Flight, adding to the broad mix of entertainment.

Alongside the rides, the festival features children’s entertainment and a variety of culinary offerings. Two fireworks displays are scheduled for 10 April and 1 May at 10 p.m., lighting up the sky above the fairgrounds and adding evening highlights to the programme.

The Spring Festival takes place at the Zentraler Festplatz on Kurt-Schumacher-Damm with opening hours varying throughout the week. Running for more than a month, the event provides a colourful stop for visitors exploring Berlin and looking for a classic fairground atmosphere in the north-west of the city.

With its extended run, free entry and wide mix of attractions, the Spring Festival at Kurt-Schumacher-Damm offers a seasonal draw for tourism in Berlin, combining panoramic rides, family entertainment and fireworks near the former Tegel Airport.
