South African citizens living in Germany and registered for the upcoming General National and Provincial elections will cast their votes on Saturday, 18 May 2024, from 7:00 to 19:00. They have the opportunity to participate in the electoral process at both the Embassy of the Republic of South Africa in Berlin and the Consulate General of the Republic of South Africa in Munich.

In Berlin, voting will take place at the South African Embassy (Tiergartenstraße 18, 10785) for registered voters or those who applied to vote in Berlin via a VEC 10 application. Special arrangements will be made for the elderly and voters with disabilities, including security checks, IEC observers, chairs, and toilet facilities. Parking options are available nearby, including Park-n-Ride options and public transport to the Consulate.

This year's elections hold particular significance as they coincide with South Africa's commemoration of 30 years of freedom and democracy. President Ramaphosa has urged all eligible voters, including those residing abroad, to actively engage in this important event in the nation's democratic history.

The General National and Provincial elections serve as a platform for citizens to express their views, aspirations, and concerns through the democratic process. By casting their votes, South African expatriates in Germany contribute to the democratic consolidation and inclusivity of their homeland, fostering a sense of belonging and civic engagement among the diaspora community.

In the spirit of unity and solidarity, South African expatriates in Germany are encouraged to seize this opportunity to make their voices heard. By exercising their democratic right to vote, they contribute to building an inclusive democracy that reflects the hopes and aspirations of all South Africans, both at home and abroad.
