The annual fun run, which takes place in the Tiergarten, took place in the team’s lunch break with the option to run either 3.6 or 7.2 kilometres. This is the 16th Bundestagslauf race and was opened by Bundestag Vice President John Sing Hammer. The race is seen by the Bundestag and its employees surrounding the area as a community event.
The South African Embassy in Berlin is one of the most active amongst their counterparts on the African continent providing constant information about events in Berlin that South Africans are participating in. Recently, Jessica Nupen’s Romeo & Juliet / REBELLION & JOHANNESBURG made its world premiere in Germany as part of the South African World Heritage Tour 2015, its final show finishing in October in Ulm. South Africa and Germany are active partners sharing and exchanging culture and academia with several successful South Africans taking top spots in science fairs in Berlin.
