In celebration of Slovakia’s National Day, H.E. Jozef Polakovic, Ambassador of Slovakia, and H.E. Peter Burian, Permanent Representative of Slovakia to the UN, OSCE, and other international organizations in Vienna, hosted an elegant reception at the Slovak residence in Vienna. Distinguished guests, including diplomats, international representatives, and members of civil society, gathered to mark this significant occasion, highlighting Slovakia's role in international diplomacy and cultural exchange.

The event was a showcase of Slovak culture and tradition. In addition to speeches celebrating the country’s achievements and future prospects, the Slovak Armed Forces’ military band provided a musical backdrop, lending an air of formality and national pride to the proceedings. The band’s performance underscored the close relationship between Slovakia’s military and its diplomatic efforts, particularly in promoting peace and security on an international scale through organizations like the UN and OSCE.

The reception also featured a cultural display by designer Zuzana Haková, who presented a selection of her work. The inclusion of her designs underscored Slovakia’s creative and artistic contributions to the international stage. Her collection brought a touch of modern Slovak fashion to the event, blending tradition with innovation and reflecting the country’s forward-looking approach to both diplomacy and cultural promotion.

Both ambassadors, alongside their spouses, Mrs. Petra Polakovic and Mrs. Nina Burianová, played active roles in the reception, emphasizing the personal connections that strengthen diplomatic ties. The event was a testament to Slovakia’s commitment to fostering diplomatic and cultural ties across Europe and beyond.
