SA Mission in Berlin Hosts Young Euro Classic Press Conference
The Event will be opened by the outstanding MIAGI Youth Orchestra
August 01st, 2018Yesterday the Mission in Berlin hosted the press conference of the 19th Young Euro Classic Festival (#youngeuroclassic) Berlin, which in this special Mandela Centenary Year (#Mandela100) will be opened by the outstanding MIAGI Youth Orchestra (#miagiyouthorchestra) from South Africa on 3rd August at Konzerthaus am Gendarmenmarkt!
In his greeting words Ambassador Sizani stated that he was honoured to host the press briefing of such an internationalist and innovative festival at the Embassy. The festival is indeed known to create a bridge between Western classical music, new and particularly non-Western interpretations, new and old music instruments from all cultures and continents, and even between classical music and Jazz or dance. In doing so, it contributes to a constructive and critical dialogue between young (and older) people from different cultures!
Ambassador Sizani also mentioned that preceding the festival on Thursday 2nd August, the MIAGI orchestra will already be playing at the official launch of the Joint South African-German Commemorative Stamp in honour of Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela, an event attended by Germany's Foreign Minister Maas, Finance State Secretary Hagedorn and Ambassador Sizani - https://www.facebook.com/events/1754826011237244/
