Russia Day to be Celebrated in Berlin on June 12th

The Russian House of Science and Culture will host a concert “Music Kaleidoscope” to celebrate the Russian national holiday

On June 12, 2019, the Russian House of Science and Culture will host a concert of soloists of the Nekrasov Orchestra of Russian Folk Instruments to celebrate Russia Day – the national holiday of the Russian Federation.

Russia Day is an important national holiday of the Russian Federation, which is celebrated annually on June 12 since 1992. Commemorating adoption of state sovereignty, this public holiday is usually celebrated with the parades, concerts, fireworks, and other entertainment and cultural programmes.

This year, on June 12, the Russian House of Science and Culture in Berlin will host a concert of soloists of the Nekrasov Orchestra of Russian Folk Instruments to celebrate the Russia Day. The Nekrasov Orchestra was founded in Moscow in December 1945, and is considered a national treasure. The orchestra is made up of the renowned soloists of opera theatres, talented and creative youth, and outstanding domra, balalaika, bayan, violin, cello, oboe, and piano performers. The Nekrasov Orchestra is a highly professional world-class orchestra performing music of various styles, eras, genres and trends. Its repertoire includes Russian folk music, Russian and foreign classics, music of the peoples of the world, as well as music of modern composers. During its history, the orchestra has worked with famous conductors and performers (Fedoseev, Nekrasov, Lemeshev, Arkhipova, Sotkilava, Kobzon, etc.). The orchestra has toured Spain, Japan, Turkey, Yugoslavia, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and many other countries.

In the concert hall of the Russian House, the best soloists of the legendary orchestra will perform favourite melodies and songs from the films, traditional Russian folk arrangements, famous classical and variety songs in Hebrew, German, Polish and Serbian. A true gift for Berliners will be a performance of a soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre Darya Davydova (soprano).
