On 7 March 2026, H.E. Mr. Chittipat Tongprasroeth, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Federal Republic of Germany, together with his spouse and diplomats from the Royal Thai Embassy in Berlin, attended the Amazing Thailand Fest 2026 (The Wholesome Taste of Thai) held on the sixth floor of the KaDeWe department store in Berlin. During the event, the Ambassador also conducted a souvenir raffle for attendees. The festival is organised by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) in cooperation with the Central Group from 2 to 14 March 2026 under the concept “Amazing Thailand Food Festival World Tour,” presenting Thailand through its gastronomy, culture and tourism.

The Amazing Thailand Fest 2026 in Berlin marks the first international launch of this initiative. As part of an “Amazing Thailand Brand Takeover” at KaDeWe, the Tourism Authority of Thailand installed large-scale promotional banners on the façade of the department store and created ten themed display windows. These installations highlight the diversity of Thai cuisine from five regions of the country, major tourist destinations, natural landscapes and elements of Thai architecture. They also emphasise Thailand’s strengths in wellness tourism and showcase the cultural heritage of the Songkran Festival. KaDeWe is widely recognised as one of Europe’s prominent department stores and a well-established lifestyle destination for premium clientele.

The official opening ceremony took place on 5 March 2026 and featured performances of Thai arts and culture, demonstrations of Thai culinary traditions and presentations on Thailand’s tourism offerings. The event aimed to provide visitors with authentic Thai taste experiences and introduce Thailand through its culinary culture. Participants included Ms. Natthriya Thaweevong, Chairperson of the TAT Board of Directors; Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand; members of the TAT Board of Directors; senior representatives of the Tourism Authority of Thailand; and executives of the Central Group.

Representatives from Thailand’s private sector also took part, including Thailand Privilege Card and Good Goods, a brand based on Thai local craftsmanship that supports sustainable community development. Their participation contributed to presenting Thailand’s cultural creativity and community-based initiatives within the broader tourism promotion programme.

The event forms part of the “Gastronomy Tourism” initiatives aimed at promoting Thai cuisine and cultural diversity internationally. Following its launch in Berlin, the Amazing Thailand Food Festival World Tour will continue in other key markets around the world, further strengthening international engagement through cultural diplomacy.
