Highlighting the dimensions of the Kashmir conflict through photography
August 21st, 2025On August 5, 2025, the Embassy of Pakistan in Berlin hosted a photographic exhibition dedicated to Jammu and Kashmir, marking the observance of Youm-e-Istehsal. The exhibition sought to highlight the situation in the region following India’s revocation of Article 370 of its constitution on August 5, 2019, which stripped Jammu and Kashmir of its autonomous status and intensified the long-standing dispute.
Through a series of photographs, the exhibition portrayed the lived experiences of Kashmiris. The initiative aimed to shed light on the humanitarian and political dimensions of the issue, offering Berlin audiences a window into one of South Asia’s most protracted conflicts.
Members of the visiting community expressed their appreciation for the Embassy’s efforts to raise awareness among the younger diaspora and local residents.
The event reinforced the importance of dialogue and engagement in addressing a dispute that continues to hold international significance.
