Peru adopted the Amman-Berlin Declaration on the Global Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities during its participation in the Third Global Disability Summit (GDS 2025) held in Berlin on 2 and 3 April. This was announced by the Peruvian Embassy in Germany in an official note. Fulfilling this international commitment means "concrete actions to promote accessibility, equal opportunities and full participation of people with disabilities", the diplomatic mission said.

The event brought together more than 4,000 participants from nearly 100 countries, including government delegations, multilateral organisations, social organisations and human rights experts. The summit's agenda included topics such as inclusive education, decent work, urban accessibility, care in emergencies and technology for inclusion.

The participation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in this international forum reflects 'Peru's firm commitment to the promotion of human rights, equal opportunities and the inclusion of persons with disabilities', the embassy stressed.

The Amman-Berlin Declaration represents a common roadmap to ensure inclusive environments, especially in developing countries, and is part of the global effort to promote compliance with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
