May 08th, 2026The ICD Academy marked the Independence and National Day of Bangladesh with a reception held on April 30, 2026, at the JW Marriott Hotel Berlin. The event brought together members of Berlin’s diplomatic community, ambassadors, and invited guests to commemorate Bangladesh’s national day and its relations with Germany.
Among those attending was Muhammad Zulqar Nain, alongside fellow ambassadors and representatives from diplomatic and institutional circles. Also present were Ana Polak Petrič, Ambassandor of Slovenia to Germany and Faruk Ajeti, Ambassandor of Kosovo to Germany, reflecting the broad diplomatic participation at the reception. The gathering recognised Bangladesh’s national development and the continuing relationship between Bangladesh and the Federal Republic of Germany.
National day receptions form a longstanding element of diplomatic culture in Berlin, where embassies regularly use commemorative events to reinforce bilateral relations and foster exchange among political, cultural, and international actors. In this context, the reception also served as a platform for dialogue within the city’s international community.
Held in the German capital, the event reflected Berlin’s role as a diplomatic centre where embassies, international organisations, and policy institutions intersect through formal and symbolic occasions. The participation of representatives from multiple diplomatic missions underscored the continued importance of such events in maintaining international networks and state-to-state engagement.
