Born from the Berliner Festwochen, Musikfest Berlin is now the city’s largest orchestral music festival. Each year, it draws world-renowned orchestras, choirs, and chamber ensembles, captivating audiences with classical performances across Berlin’s grand concert halls.

The 2024 edition promises standout performances, including the opening concert by the São Paulo Symphony Orchestra under Thierry Fischer. Franz Welser-Möst will conduct the Cleveland Orchestra, while Pierre-Laurent Aimard II performs a piano recital featuring Schönberg and Ives. Susanna Mälkki leads the Staatskapelle Berlin, and the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra makes its debut, with Christian Thielemann conducting Schumann’s Spring Symphony and Bruckner’s First Symphony. Sir Simon Rattle will close the festival with Olivier Messiaen’s "Des Canyons aux étoiles...". Musikfest Berlin is a forum for both classical and modern orchestral music, presenting seldom-heard works alongside traditional symphonies. Organized by the Berliner Festspiele and Berliner Philharmoniker Foundation, the festival emphasizes both innovation and historical performance practices, offering audiences a diverse and enriching musical experience.
