On July 17, the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia in Berlin, Mr. Viktor Yengibaryan, met with Dr. Nicole Renvert, Head of International Markets at the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DIHK), and Mr. Stefan Kägebein, Head of Division for Eastern and Southeastern Europe and the South Caucasus.

The meeting focused on exploring opportunities to intensify bilateral trade and economic cooperation between Armenia and Germany, as well as organizing joint events. Ambassador Yengibaryan also presented the Armenian government's "Crossroads of Peace" initiative and Armenia's investment potential.

The “Crossroads of Peace” is an initiative launched in 2023 aiming to turn Armenia into a regional trade and transit hub by rebuilding railways, roads, and energy links with Azerbaijan, Turkey, Georgia, and Iran. This initiative has the double goal of seeking to boost economic growth and regional stability while preserving state sovereignty over infrastructure.

In this context, the current geopolitical situation and its economic implications were also discussed.

The meeting reflected the joint efforts of both parties to advance Armenia’s economic development and to strengthen its regional role. The participation of representatives of the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce shows the involvement of the economic actors in Armenia’s “Crossroads of Peace” initiative.
