The Philippine Manila Symphony Junior Orchestra (MSJO) will have multiple performances in Vienna as a part of its European tour in Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic.

The Manila Symphony Orchestra is one of the oldest orchestras in Asia and the longest surviving artistic institution in the Philippines.

Founded in 1926, the orchestra played a major role in Philippine history, including acting as a symbol of resistance during the Second World War.

In July of 2024, the Manila Symphony Junior Orchestra embarks on their European tour with locations in various cities and concert halls in Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic.

The tour starts on June 30th with the first show in Budapest.

The MSJO will first perform on Austrian land on July 2nd in Salzburg.

Following a performance in Bratislava (July 4th), the orchestra will return to Austria for multiple shows in the capital, Vienna, from July 6th to July 8th.

The final performance in Europe will be on July 10th in Prague.

The European tour of the MSJO takes place with the support of the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines, as it aims to foster national pride and showcase the MSJO’s talent while they prepare to represent the Philippines on an international stage.

Along with that, the tour underscores the importance of cultural diplomacy and supporting youth on an international stage while promoting Philippine culture abroad.
