Korean Embassy Hosted a Visit for Students of the Carolinum-Gymnasium and the Duksung-Mädchenoberschule
Strengthening initiatives with partner schools in Germany and Korea
July 18th, 2025On June 16, the Korean Ambassador in Berlin, Sang Beom Lim, welcomed students from the Carolinum-Gymnasium and the Duksung-Mädchenoberschule to the Korean Embassy. This initiative contributes to strengthening ties between German and Korean schools.
The Carolinum-Gymnasium and Duksung-Mädchenoberschule have been partner schools since 2019, organizing mutual exchange programs and making Carolinum-Gymnasium the first German School to offer Korean as a regular subject.
The visit to the Korean Embassy offered an opportunity for students from both schools to exchange ideas and learn about the embassy’s activities, fostering greater mutual understanding.
The ambassador presented the embassy's duties and activities. He then spoke about the diplomatic profession, followed by an open discussion with the students to cover various topics. One notable topic highlighted by the Embassy was the division of Germany and Korea, a shared experience that connects both countries, while noting that Germany has since reunified, whereas Korea remains divided.
The Korean Embassy plans to use this visit to promote exchanges between the young generations of Korea and Germany, as well as support the development of various programs between the two nations.
