Korean Foundation (hereafter KF) along with the Korean Embassy for Germany is launching the Korea Festival 2019 both in Germany and the Czech Republic in July.

Celebrating the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, the Korean Festival will be launched in Berlin with a slogan of ‘Show Passion Korea. The main performance will be a collaborative performance between Korean traditional music and dance and contemporary breakdancing genre.

Participating groups are ‘Dong Rak’ the Korean traditional music performing group founded in 2013 based on the Korean traditional genre of ‘Samulnori’ (a Korean percussion music genre with four playful instruments) and ‘Fusion MC’, founded in 2002, a leading B-boying crew from Korea that has won over 30 international B-boy competitions. The KF explains ‘The festival expresses the pursuit of harmony, including the search for a harmonious collaboration between tradition and modernity.’ The performance is on Wednesday, July 10, at 18:30, Heimathafen Neukölln, Berlin. Furthermore, before the performance, there will also be a b-boying master’s workshop run by Fusion MC on Monday, July 8 at 18:30 Flying Steps Academy, Berlin.
