The Kenako Festival takes place each year on Berlin's Alexanderplatz, running from August 23rd to September 1st. This vibrant event transforms the heart of the city into a bustling traditional marketplace, complete with tents and a live stage program that offers visitors an immersive taste of Africa.

Bringing the flair of Africa to Berlin, the Kenako Festival celebrates the continent's rich diversity through a wide-ranging entertainment program. Visitors to the marketplace can explore and purchase handmade artwork, clothing, cosmetics, and culinary delights from all corners of Africa.

In addition to the marketplace, the festival features a dynamic cultural program on its main stage, showcasing music, dance, and theater performances. Beyond the performances, the festival's agenda includes workshops, readings, film screenings, and discussion rounds, all part of the Global Learning project, designed to deepen understanding and appreciation of African cultures.
