The Italian Film Festival Berlin will take place from the 8th of November 2022 to the 13th of November 2022 in the Kulturbrauerei, emerging in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute. The aim of the event is to bring Italian cinema into the spotlight and build a bridge between Germany and Italy.

During this year’s Film Festival, homage will be paid to Gianni Amelio, who will also be appearing as a guest. Various films will be shown throughout the various days of the event, spanning various genres, costing €10 per film, which can be paid for online or at the Kulturbrauerei.

This will include L’arminuta (A Girl Returned) which is adapted from Donatella di Pietrantonio’s best-selling novel of the same name, which details the life of a young girl in the 1970s who discovers she was adopted and moves to be with her biological family in the Abruzzo region. Furthermore, the festival will feature Ennio, which pays tribute to the Italian composer, orchestrator, conductor and trumpeter, Ennio Morricone, retracing his life and works. Another film featured will be Il Bambino Nascosto (The Hidden Child) which depicts a young boy becoming the target of a local crime syndicate, and thus seeks refuge with his downstairs neighbour, who is an accomplished piano teacher. This names but a few, with various other engaging films being featured also.

Why not come along to see the new generation of Italian cinema within the unique destination of the Kulturbrauerei?
