The Embassy of Ireland in Berlin will once again host The Last Rose of Summer, a chamber music festival taking place from 15 to 19 August 2025. Organized in collaboration with the Mendelssohn-Gesellschaft, the festival is set in the historic former Mendelssohn Bank building, now home to the Irish Embassy, where music and history come together in a unique atmosphere.

This edition pays tribute to two major composers: Maurice Ravel, marking the 150th anniversary of his birth, and Dmitri Shostakovich, commemorating 50 years since his passing. Their works will be performed alongside pieces by Mozart and Schubert, with Ravel’s Sonata for Violin and Cello featured in the closing concert. On 18 August, “Irish Day” will spotlight Séamus and Caoimhe Ní Fhlatharta, artists from the Gaeltacht region, bringing traditional Irish music to the stage.

The festival promotes cultural exchange through music, highlighting the Embassy’s commitment to artistic dialogue and heritage. For more information, see: https://www.ingolfsson-stoupel-duo.com/the-last-rose-of-summer.
