On 28 May, 2024, a preview of a selection of images from the touring exhibition “Somewhere else is everywhere” by the artist Dieter Nuhr took place in Essen, North Rhine-Westphalia. Building on his previous exhibition "Surrounded by Distances", Dieter Nuhr embarked on a journey with the touring exhibition "Somewhere else is everywhere," made possible by the Brost Foundation.

The new project aims to build on the success of its predecessor and not only takes the viewer on a journey through the Ruhr region and the rest of the world, but also uses autobiographical and historical sources to expand the horizon of the exhibition with a temporal perspective. The touring exhibition, which will run until 2028, includes a total of ten locations in Germany and abroad. This year, the exhibition is scheduled in Essen, Vienna and Munich.

Minister President Wüst commented: "Dieter Nuhr has very clear views, which suits the Ruhr area, where plain speaking matters. Somewhere Else is Everywhere also means that there is something to discover and appreciate everywhere. This openness to the world is important, especially for North Rhine-Westphalia, which is so diverse and connected to the world."

The Prime Minister also remarked: "The focus of the pictures is the cultural area of the Ruhr, because the exhibition was created by an artist who is deeply connected to the Ruhr area."
