On 15 September 2025, under the presidency of the State of Kuwait, the Embassy of Kuwait in Berlin hosted the periodic meeting of Ambassadors and representatives of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries accredited to the Federal Republic of Germany. The meeting was chaired by H.E. Reem Mohamed Al-Khaled, Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Germany, whose country currently holds the rotating presidency of the GCC.

The gathering was attended by H.E. Abdullah bin Ibrahim Al-Hamar, Ambassador of the State of Qatar, alongside fellow ambassadors and representatives of the GCC states. The meeting underscored solidarity with Qatar in light of the recent Israeli attack and provided a platform to exchange views on the latest political and diplomatic developments in the Middle East.

Beyond addressing pressing regional challenges, the discussions also reaffirmed the commitment of GCC embassies to maintaining an active diplomatic presence in Berlin. The GCC states — Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates — have steadily deepened their ties with Germany in fields ranging from trade and investment to energy cooperation and cultural exchange.

The periodic meetings of GCC ambassadors in Berlin highlight the importance of collective diplomacy. By engaging with German counterparts and institutions, the embassies play a vital role in strengthening Arab-German relations, advancing dialogue on regional issues, and promoting mutual understanding.
